ADELANTE 2 participates in the main forums on Triangular Cooperation

Brussels, 10 October 2022

ADELANTE was present in the main international forums on Triangular Cooperation in 2022. The following are some highlights:

Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD Expo).

Organised by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) under the title 'Promoting South-South and Triangular Cooperation for the Sustainable Recovery of COVID-19 - Towards a Smart and Resilient Future,' the event took place in Bangkok from 12 to 14 September.

ADELANTE 2 had a virtual stand where the three components were presented in detail. In addition, within the framework of the Expo, the ADELANTE Window was recognised as a good practice in Triangular Cooperation and was included in Volume 4 of the collection 'Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development,' supported by the UNOSSC.

VI Regional Conference on Triangular Cooperation.

Organised by the Regional Fund for Triangular Cooperation, with partners from Latin America and the Caribbean (GIZ) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), under the title '(Re)-thinking Partnerships,' the conference took place in Berlin from 7-8 September.

ADELANTE 2 participated in the main programme with a presentation, in the section 'Global Outlook on Triangular Cooperation 2022: Results, objectives and perspectives,' by Diana Montero Melis, Deputy Head of Unit B1 - South America and Regional Operations of the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA). In addition, the ADELANTE Window was presented in the working group 'Diversity of actors and multi-stakeholder partnerships in Triangular Cooperation.'

VI International Meeting on Triangular Cooperation.

Organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, IP, under the theme 'Triangular Co-operation at the heart of the global development agenda,' the meeting took place in Lisbon from 6-7 October.

ADELANTE 2 had the opportunity to present the ADELANTE Window at the Marketplace, organised by the (GPI) in the framework of the meeting.

In these three events, the capacity and willingness of ADELANTE 2 to contribute to the Triangular Cooperation system was demonstrated, largely thanks to the great potential for reflection, insights and evidence building arising from the ADELANTE Window (which will be joined in the near future by the other components that are now starting their work). The interest in and recognition of ADELANTE by all Triangular Cooperation actors was also expressed, highlighting in particular the innovative and multi-stakeholder nature of the ADELANTE Window.
